Enrico Casertano

Dancing is an art, and art is meant to be shared. A musician composes so the melody gets heard. A painter hangs the work so someone sees it. We teach for the same reason.
Enrico had spent years learning these rhythms in Havana and Santo Domingo, then landed in a city where hardly anyone teaches them that way.
So he opened a room where someone does: Toronto Baila
Enrico has been dancing for over two decades (don't do the math), first in musical fitness in Italy, then professionally in hip-hop. Paris, in 2010, is where Cuban dance caught him. He trained under Yoannis Tamayo and Alberto Valdés, then went to Cuba, over and over, to learn casino, son, rumba and Afro-Cuban folklore from the people who carry it. Six years living in the Dominican Republic gave him bachata and merengue the same way. He has run his own schools in Paris and in the Dominican Republic, and teaches in Italian, English, French and Spanish.
